Attention: The BSRI Senior Centers are tentatively scheduling to reopen for programs on June 7th. Program participants will be required to wear face coverings while attending all in-person classes, including exercise classes (both instructed & gym equipment related). YES – And it is recommended to register and join as a participant at any one of our Senior Centers.

What can I expect during my first counseling session?

Mallory will complete an Initial Assessment where she will ask you questions about your lifestyle and diet. The two of you will set goals together and she will develop an individualized plan that is tailored to you. Your weight will be monitored and follow ups will be up to you. You will also be given material handouts and information to help you with your journey.

What are the eligibility requirements of the Food Pantry, hours of operation, and locations?

–          Income for the household should be at or below 130% of the federal poverty guideline.

–          Each household will receive a pre-packed box of non-perishable food items once every 3 months.

–          Food pantries are located at the Senior Centers at Leland, Shallotte, and Southport.

–          Hours of Operation: 2nd and 4th Friday of every month from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
