BSRI Board Of Directors

Myong Jensen

Board Member

Myong has served on BSRI’s Board of Directors since 2018. She feels the best part of being a board member is being part of an organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors of Brunswick County. “It’s very inspiring and rewarding to see the smiling faces of senior adults at the centers.”

Myong earned an MS in Systems Management and two bachelor’s degrees (BS and BA in Computer Science and Business, respectively). From early 1980 to 2004, she held senior executive positions in the Information Technology field for Fortune 500 companies including: Grumman AeroSpace, NCR, and SAIC. In 2005, Myong started Information Technology Solutions and Consulting LLC (ITSC). As founder, President and CEO, she developed ITSC to become an award winning, woman-owned small business providing consulting and analytical services for health organizations, U.S. government, and industries. She considers being an entrepreneur and starting a business her greatest accomplishment.

After selling the company in 2017, she relocated from northern Virginia, and began permanent residency in Ocean Isle Beach, NC.

In her free time Myong volunteers on various committees through her home association, BSRI’s Board, and the Board of Trustees for Brunswick Community College. She also enjoys walking, golfing, reading, and traveling.

Myong shares that the best advice she’d ever been given is, “Always tell the truth, you sleep better that way.”

Her philosophy to live a successful life is from a Ralph Waldo Emerson Quote:
“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded.”

Favorite book and/or movie?
“The book “The Last Lion” by William Manchester and Paul Reid. It centers around Winston Churchill during WWII and has so much depth about the history and events that happened.

What is one piece of advice you would give?
“Don’t do the same thing over and over again and expect to have different results. Move cheese!”
