Justin

How long have you served on BSRI’s BOD?
1 great month!

What’s the most inspiring/best part of being a BSRI Board Member?
Helping the generation that laid the groundwork for where we are today. I love listening and learning about my neighbors in the Brunswick County.

Please share your professional/career history.

I am a graduate of East Carolina University! go Pirates! I have worked hospitality management for most of my professional career. That changed after being an EMT-Basic, and I realized that I wanted to move into health care. I have worked as a healthcare recruiter, and personal care marketer, and currently, the most rewarding job thus far, as a hospice liaison.

On the side, I love to DJ weddings and special events for a local DJ company.

What are you hobbies/personal interests(what do you do in your free time)?

I love thrift shopping. I also love to craft. Shhhh.

The best poiece of advice I’ve ever been given is…

Try to be kind to each person you meet. They might be going through the worst day of their life.

What do you consider to be your biggest accomplishment (personal or professional)?

Other than marrying my wife, graduating from college after starting 18 years earlier would be the next biggest thing.

What work or life philosophy informs how you succeed?

Success is never owned; it is rented. And the rent is due every day.

Favorite Movie?

Top Gun

What would you like to share about your family life?

I am married to my beautiful wife, Meredith, who is in nursing school and works at a local rheumatologist’s office. We have 2 dogs, Kip, AKA Peanut (Blue Heeler)), and Liza Pearl (Goldendoodle). A cat named Linus and a turtle named Pigpen. We love to travel and explore new places and hope to start a family soon.

If I won the lottery tomorrow, I’d.. start a transporation company in Brunswick County.
If I could invent a holiday, it would definitely involve… Christmas Tree Cakes!

What is one piece of advice you would give?

Each day do 3 things! Pray, work hard, and say I love you often!
