John has served on BSRI’s Board of Directors since September of 2005.
He feels the best part of being a board member is “…being a part of the mission, starting with a daily meal.”

John began working right after college in 1973. He has helped build 5 companies over his career and continues working in the field of finance today. Although he has had plenty of professional success, he says his biggest accomplishment are his children.

He considers himself to be an outdoorsman and in his free time he is either on his bike, kayak, or hiking. His boat also gets plenty of use in the warmer months of the year. He also enjoys time spent with family saying, “My family is the central part of my life as my parents instilled that in me and all of my siblings. Today we still all stay in touch and try to always attend the big events.”

John shares that the best piece of advice he’s ever been given is, “Get an education, and most importantly, put it to work to help others.” This has inspired his life philosophy for success to “Always work to help others achieve their goals while building trust.”
